Cosley Zoo

Since the weather was so beautiful today, we headed to Cosley Zoo in Wheaton to see some "anmos" (animals). Kyri loved seeing everything, but of course, her favorites were the ducks. We hung out by this pond for a long time calling to the duuuucks.

This old caboose was fun, too. There are a lot of little hands on puzzles inside of it, and Kyri was really into them.

Kyle enjoyed the puzzles, too.

Corn on the Cob
For dinner we enjoyed some corn on the cob from the Grebner farm. It was delicious, and we found out that Kyri really likes it, too! She started out eating the shaved off pieces we gave her but then decided she needed to have it on the cob, too, since she's such a big girl. She was cracking us up! Thanks Sand and Steve!

Splash Park

Kyri got to go to a splash park with both of her cousins, Charlie and Aubry, as well as her two aunts, Kay and Donna. This was Kyri's and my first time at a splash park, and it was a nice way to spend a really hot day. The girls weren't overly brave with the big fountains, but they seemed to like these little spouts to splash around in.

How did we get lucky enough to have three of the cutest little girls in the world? (Okay, maybe I'm a little biased...)

More flower shots

Since I just don't have enough pictures of Kyri playing outside in the flowers : ), I felt the need to take some more. This is probably the most photographed kid in America...I guess it's her privilege for being the first born. And it has a lot to do with the fact that I like playing with my camera. I promise I won't become a stage mom and put her on Toddlers and Tiaras. Just having fun and showing off Kyle's nice flowers that he's put so much work into. (These weren't staged at all...Kyri always dresses this fancy to play in the backyard!)

DuPage County Fair

Going to the fair this year was a lot different than last year. She actually watched the animals this year instead of just watching the people. It was so fun to show her all of the animals live since she knows all of their names and sounds from the books she reads. Her face was really cute each time we came to a new animal. You could see the wheels turning, and she would raise her eyebrows in disbelief! The size of the animals kind of overwhelmed her at first, and she started out with a death grip on us. But by the end she was getting brave and actually walking up to the pens herself. She talked about the fair the whole way home!

Pointing to the cow from a safe distance while mooing
Her face was smiling, but she was still clamped onto me for dear life!
Looking at the pigs with Grandma Laurel
Although her face looks terrified, she's really demonstrating how the goat was chewing : )
Getting a good look at the pigs
I loved how she crouched down to peek at the animals

Getting brave enough to go up to the goats by herself
Not quite so brave with the horses...had to hang onto Grandma Laurel for safety!

She decided she didn't need her stroller for much of the fair...such a big girl
Mmmmm, ice cream!
Is that country music I hear??
She was so cute when she heard the music and burst into a line dance. Throughout the whole night she kept swaying to the music. I think we have a country girl on our hands! The second video shows one of her dances. The first video is of her bravely feeding the goats.

Happy 4th of July!

Our festivities started Saturday night at a party for Aunt Sherry's birthday. (Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the birthday girl, though!)
Dancing with Pop

Then on Sunday we went to the annual Boston 4th of July Party.
Kyri slept through most of the Villa Park parade, but she woke up in time to see the horses! (That's what she's pointing at in this picture.)

Curbside seat with Uncle B and Aunt Kay to watch the parade
It didn't take long for Kyri to change out of her pretty dress into her bathing suit. It was sooo hot! Kyle and Grandma Laurel liked cooling off in the water, too!

I love this picture of Aubry!
Bubbles!
I was amazed when I saw that Kyri can blow her own bubbles now!
"They're cousins, identical cousins..."

Little Mia with her 4th of July bling!
What a star!
We haven't gone to see the fireworks in the past couple of years and were actually planning to go this year, but all the sun and fresh air wore K.J. out! She fell asleep by 8, so we didn't make it up there again this year! We had a great day, though!
