So I don't forget...

I've been terrible about updating this summer, and we've been doing a lot of fun stuff.  Before school starts, I will upload all of my pictures from the past few months.  But right now, I just want to post a few quick things before I forget them.

Both girls are growing up sooo fast.  It's hard to believe that Tessa is already wearing clothes that Kyri just grew out of a few months ago.  And Tess is really starting to communicate now.  We still get a lot of whining when she gets frustrated, but she is starting to say her own version of certain words that we can understand.  I realized that we haven't been taking very many videos of her, so I took this one of her just being her so I can remember what she was like at this age.

And Kyri continues to act about 20 years older than she really is.  The phrases she uses crack me up. Here are a few that I can remember from the past few weeks...

"Mommy, you're outta sight!"  (After I gave her a few m & ms  for dessert)

"Mmmmm, this lemonade is refreshing!"

Me:  "Kyri, do you want to go outside and have some fun?"
Kyri:  "I'm made of fun!!"

Where does she get this stuff???

I love my silly girls!

4th of July

For the 4th, we went to the Boston's annual party.
We started out by going to the parade at the end of their block.
These two rode in style!

Aubry, Kyri, and Noah and Avery Connelly

Tess was thrilled to get candy from the pararde!

Her first sucker...mmm!!

Uncle B screened the candy for the older two.

After the parade, we headed back to Mr. and Mrs. Boston's house.  It was 100 degrees that day, so the kids got started with the water activities right away.

We all went together to purchase this fun bounce house.  Kyri, Tessa, and Aubry were really timid about it at first.  The bigger kids at the party jumped right in, though.

Our girls preferred the safe, familiar baby pool.

But eventually, our girls gave it a try.
And they LOVED IT!

Even Tess tried out the slide a few times!

We got home from the party around 5:30, and we were all hot and tired.  Tessa and Kyle took a nap, but Kyri was too excited about going to see the fireworks to nap.  She made it until about 8:00.  I made the mistake of leaving her alone on the living room couch for a few minutes, and when I came back, she was snoring.  I even tried to wake her up and told her it was time to go see the fireworks.  She shook her head and said she wanted to go to bed instead.  (I have to admit, I was pretty disappointed!)

This little firecracker was wide awake, though!
