We will miss you Mimi

Today we had to say goodbye to one of the most amazing women I've ever met. My mom's Aunt Mary (Mimi) passed away. She was the sharpest, sweetest, warmest woman who always made everyone she met feel special. My heart goes out to her kids and grandkids. They were all very close. Mimi will be greatly missed by all of us!

I'm so thankful that we had the opportunity to stop and visit with her while we were in South Carolina this past summer. It meant so much for her to meet Kyri. They had an instant bond. (Mimi is second from the right.)

Coloring Easter Eggs, Meeting the Bunny, and Easter Egg Hunt Under the Stars

Today we had Uncle B, Aubry, Grandma B, Grandpa Larry, Grandma Nancy, and Grandpa Mike over for dinner and to decorate Easter eggs. After we finished, we headed over to our Community Center to get pictures with the Easter Bunny and to do an outdoor egg hunt. The girls had a great time!

2 Months!

We are happy to say that we have a completely different baby over here these days. Tessa is much more comfortable and likes to just sit calmly and watch the world around her now! Lately it seems that she just cries when she is hungry or needs a diaper change. I am so happy that I still have three more weeks of maternity leave to spend time with our little sweetheart now that she has settled down. She smiles all the time and carries on conversations with us. She even was smiling at the doctor today for her two month check up (until she got her shots). This is a huge change because at the last two visits she screamed the whole time and I could barely concentrate on what the doctor was saying! This time was nice and relaxing. We learned that she is now 9 lbs 3 oz and 21.75 inches long. So, it looks like the formula is working!! She is growing!! I can stop freaking out! The doctor said everything else looked good, too.

Here is a video of Tessa talking to a stuffed baby chick that she seemed to really like. Of course, please ignore my obnoxious voice in the video. The more high pitched and ridiculous my voice sounds, the more she smiles.

Things are Looking Up!!

I'm happy to report that we're all doing much better over here. I think we've found the right dosage for the reflux medicine and now we have switched to all formula. Both seem to be doing the trick. Tessa is a lot more comfortable after she eats now and has long content stretches in between. It's so nice to see her just relaxed and looking around. I must have been starving her before . : ( There are still some crying fits, but she snaps out of them quicker, and we are figuring out ways to soothe her. We are also learning what to do to prevent her reflux screams. I even was able to change her diaper three times without her crying today!! So, all in all, we are much happier!

Here is my happy baby! I now get believable smiles from her, especially after she eats!

Since Tessa was in a good mood today, I thought we'd try some "tummy time". She lasted about 2 minutes before she zonked out.

Later, I set Tessa in her crib so I could change Kyri's diaper. When I came back in her room, she was sound asleep. She took her first nap in her crib ON HER BACK! You know the medicine is working if she actually was content on her back. It didn't last long and she was kind of crabby when she woke up, but it's a start!

We had a good day!
